Pole dance instructor courses

At the Colonna Pole & Postural Academy we have an extensive training course for anyone who wants to become a pole dance instructor using the Pole & Postural method. Invented by Iliana Ciccarello and based on actual experimentation in the field, the design is based on teaching that pays great attention to detail in movement,

rather than an overall vision of athletic movement.

Training, sports and art

The name itself expresses a focus on the posture and therefore the health of the student, as the right posture is necessary for every action, from everyday ones to much more sophisticated performative acts. That's the reason lliana Ciccarello based her whole method on this crucial aspect.

Another focal point is the artistic angle as a tool for search and experimentation, the aim being to develop the most original athletic movement possible. From this point of view the choreographic and musical aspect becomes an integral part of the teaching process.

The Pole & Postural method therefore aims to combine, using of the pole and other aerial equipment, the body movement you typically find in gymnastic disciplines with the artistic aspect of dance.

This combination lets us structure fun, creative, dynamic training, but at the same time based on the discipline and rigor needed to achieve a good degree of physical skill. It's therefore essential that every movement is taught by breaking it down into the smallest detail, giving priority to its qualitative aspect.

       Lessons

Our lessons are designed for every level of physical ability, from basic to advanced, from children to adults, for men and women.

Our courses for first-level instructors are based, in a nutshell, on four focal points:

  • Teaching the fundamental elements which you need to keep in mind to properly execute the movements.
  • Attention to all the fundamental points for identifying the mistakes made by students and thus correcting them.
  • The best way to help students, which must never be intrusive or hinder the dynamic movement of their bodies.
  • Spotting the most common errors made by students. Knowing how to spot them means an instructor can teach the techniques for tricks and combinations more easily.

First- and second-level courses for becoming a pole sport instructor.

The courses are based on the Pole & Postural © method, conceived by Iliana Ciccarello and recognized by the promotional body CSI.

Our lessons take place in Florence at the Colonna Pole & Postural academy. Each course is spread over a total of 24 hours, divided into three modules. It's important to know that:

  • Starting from the end of the course, you will have six months to prepare to take the exam and you will have two chances to pass it successfully (if you fail the both times, you'll have to begin the course again);
  • You'll be given the opportunity to carry out an internship on site (by appointment).
  • You'll be awarded a diploma which to certify that you've passed the final exam.
  • You'll be issued with detailed handouts with photos and drawings illustrating, step by step, everything learnt on the course.
  • You'll be helped online, including from a distance as you prepare for the final exam.
  • Anyone who has already attended the first-level course can enrol in the second-level course, even if they have not yet taken the exam (but you do need to pass the first-level exam if you want to take the next one). Lessons can take place at any time between 9.30 and 6.30.

How important is rhythm in executing a dynamic movement?

The sense of rhythm is the foundation of life.. it's what makes our heart beat coherently...🌸

Try doing a re-grip in time with the music, faster and faster like in this video and you'll realize how much it can help you🤗

THE EYES

How important is it to look in the right spot for a correct bio mechanics of the movement at the pole?

And how important are fronts and alignments?

All this is much more, it is the basis of my teaching method and it is what prompted me to create CICCARELLO'S RINGS, the diagram with which I have been teaching for years to many students

and aspiring instructors.
